BOSTON -- The Red Sox have switched the start time of Saturday's game against the Oakland Athletics from 7:10 p.m. ET to 1:10 p.m., so that fans can also watch Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals that evening between the Boston Bruins and the Vancouver Canucks.
The Bruins are trying to win their first Stanley Cup since 1972. Game 2 of that series will be played at 8 p.m. ET.
In 2008 and '10, when the Boston Celtics were in the NBA Finals, the Red Sox made similar adjustments with start times.
All Fenway Park gates will open at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, with a limited opening on Yawkey Way at Gates A and D at 11:10 a.m., and NESN's pregame coverage will begin at noon.
Additionally, the Red Sox-Athletics contest will air on WEEI 850 AM, with the pregame show starting at noon. Fans can also hear the game broadcast by Spanish Baseball Productions on WWZN 1510 AM.
