Red Sox at the plate: Manny Ramirez and J.D. Drew both belted their first home runs of Spring Training. Ramirez hit a two-run blast in the first, while Drew hit a solo shot to the opposite field in the second.

Orioles at the plate: Tike Redman had two hits and scored twice. Melvin Mora hammered a solo homer against Daisuke Matsuzaka in the third inning.

Red Sox on the mound: Matsuzaka allowed four hits and two runs over his four innings of work, walking none and striking out two. Closer Jonathan Papelbon was untouched in his inning of work, notching two strikeouts. Mike Timlin gave up two hits and a run in his inning.

Orioles on the mound: Starter Jon Leicester surrendered four hits and three runs over three innings. Lance Cormier gave up three hits and two runs in 2 2/3 innings.

Grapefruit League records: Red Sox 6-8; Orioles 7-7.

Up next for the Red Sox: Left-hander Jon Lester takes the ball for Saturday's 1:05 p.m. ET contest against the Reds. Bryan Corey, Javier Lopez and David Aardsma are also scheduled to pitch for Boston, and shortstop Julio Lugo is expected to return to the lineup after missing 13 games with lower back tightness. Homer Bailey will make the start for the Reds.

Up next for the Orioles: The Orioles travel to Jupiter, Fla., on Saturday to play the Marlins. Right-hander Steve Trachsel is expected to start, followed by Chad Bradford and Greg Aquino. Game time is 1:05 p.m.
