Scott undergoes arthroscopic surgery on elbow

BOSTON -- Red Sox reliever Robby Scott underwent a left elbow arthrosocopy and debridement at Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday and is expected to be ready for the start of Spring Training.

The 27-year-old Scott made the Opening Day roster for the first time in his career in 2017 and pitched 57 games for the Red Sox, going 2-1 with a 2.57 ERA.

Scott was Boston's best situational lefty in '17, holding left-handed hitters to a .121 average and a .527 OPS.

The Red Sox purchased Scott from the Yuma Scorpions of the Independent League on Aug. 19, 2011, and he's been in the organization ever since.
