BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today announced that select tickets for the 2012 season will go on sale Saturday, December 10, and will be available online, by phone, and at the 9th Annual Christmas at Fenway presented by Stop and Shop event held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Fenway Park.
Fans who go online, call, or attend the event will have the first opportunity to purchase 2012 tickets for select April and May games, or through the popular “Sox Pax” presented by MasterCard, which include tickets to four games with a variety of game and seat options. Tickets will continue to be on sale as long as supplies last.
Additionally, Major League Baseball Advanced Media and Tickets.com have made significant improvements to the virtual waiting room in recent years, vastly improving the online experience and creating a faster system and shorter wait times for fans.
Single-game tickets and “Sox Pax” will be available online at redsox.com beginning at 10:00 a.m. on December 10. Single-game tickets will also be available by phone at 888-REDSOX6. Fans who require ADA accessible seating may also call 877-REDSOX9. Hearing impaired fans may call the Red Sox TTY line at (617) 226-6644.
The online registration process for the chance to attend Christmas at Fenway begins today, Wednesday, November 30, and continues through 12 noon on Monday, December 5 on redsox.com. Attendees will be selected and contacted from a pool of registrants, and winners will be invited to come to Fenway Park during a selected time frame. Each winner will receive an email confirmation, which includes their pre-selected arrival time. This confirmation must be presented at check-in with a photo ID for admittance to Fenway Park.
Christmas at Fenway presented by Stop and Shop will give randomly selected fans a chance to enjoy the festivities at the ballpark and a guaranteed opportunity to purchase tickets for the 2012 season. The list of twelve different “Sox Pax” available for sale is attached. “Sox Pax” will include the always highly sought after Interleague games, summer weekend games, and the matchups against A.L. East rivals the New York Yankees. The single game tickets that are available for sale include all April and May home games with the exceptions of Opening Day, and all games with the New York Yankees. There is a maximum limit of two “Sox Pax” packages per customer of up to four tickets per package for a total of 32 tickets. Fans can also purchase a maximum of ten tickets from the single game sales with any combination of games.
Events on Saturday, December 10 are scheduled to include roundtable discussions with Red Sox officials, interviews with current players Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Darnell McDonald, and Ryan Lavarnway, Michael Bowden and legends Jim Lonborg, Luis Tiant and Jerry Remy among others. In addition, certain attendees will be randomly selected throughout the day for special prizes and giveaway experiences.
Fans who attend Christmas at Fenway presented by Stop and Shop will have an opportunity to attend the Fourth “Great Fenway Park Yard Sale” presented by F.W. Webb in the Absolut Clubhouse. The annual event will offer a variety of items for fans to browse and purchase, including, signed memorabilia from former/current players, game used jerseys and bats, framed photos and paintings, ballpark seats, ballpark signage and original Fenway Park bricks. All Yard Sale items are subject to availability and will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
