BOSTON -- Red Sox outfielder Daniel Nava was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left wrist sprain before Saturday's game against the Royals.
It is Nava's second stint on the DL this season. He missed 21 games from July 29 to Aug. 19, also with a left wrist sprain.
In a corresponding roster move, the Red Sox activated left-hander Felix Doubront (right knee) from the 15-day DL.
Doubront is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Royals. He is 10-6 with a 4.70 ERA in his first full season as a starter. The southpaw has 119 strikeouts in 122 2/3 innings.
Doubront is winless in his last four outings and has not won since July 18.
Nava is hitting .250 with 17 doubles, four home runs and 27 RBIs in 67 games for the Red Sox this year.
