FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Red Sox rested most of their regulars on Monday, but they still rolled to a 5-1 victory over the Rays at JetBlue Park.

Lefty Felix Doubront made his first start of Spring Training after being slowed by shoulder weakness and pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Doubront gave up one hit while walking two and striking out two.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Jonny Gomes, the only two projected Opening Day starters to play for Boston, both had hits. It was Saltalamacchia's first game behind the plate in five days due to some lower back stiffness. Gomes had also been out of the mix since Wednesday due to a left knee injury.

Jose Iglesias continued to show offensive strides this spring, as he cranked a pair of doubles. Pedro Ciriaco, trying to win a utility spot, had an RBI hit.

Manager John Farrell said Iglesias is showing more consistency.

"They are aggressive swings, solid contact," said Farrell. "He looks pretty confident at the plate right now."

Jeremy Hellickson and Jeff Niemann both had productive pitching days for the Rays. Hellickson allowed two hits and a run while walking none and striking out four over three innings. Niemann allowed three hits and a run over 2 2/3 innings.

Alex Colome had a tough day for Tampa Bay, giving up three hits and three runs over two-thirds of an inning.

Up next: Right-hander John Lackey will make his third start of Spring Training on Tuesday, when the Red Sox host Team Puerto Rico in a 7:05 p.m. ET contest at JetBlue Park.
