"Well, we've got six righties coming up against us and it's a matter of continuing his development yet putting the best lineup we can on the field," said manager John Farrell. "That's what goes into it. It's a balance. It's something that I and we as a staff have to continue to integrate him when possible. Play him and make sure he doesn't go too far from getting at-bats. I'm sure he'll be on the field at some point in this series."
Slugger David Ortiz could be ready for activation on Friday night, when the club opens a homestand against the Royals. If that ends up being the case, Bradley will likely be optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.
With Bradley out of Tuesday's lineup, Daniel Nava got the start in left while Jonny Gomes served as the designated hitter.
