Kalish, 25, missed the entire 2013 season due to injury. He began the year on the 60-day disabled list while recovering from right shoulder surgery and underwent cervical fusion surgery on August 13. Selected by the Red Sox in the ninth round of the 2006 June Draft, Kalish played in 89 major league games with Boston over the 2010 and 2012 seasons and combined to hit .243 (63-for-259) with 14 doubles, a triple, four home runs, 29 RBI, 38 runs, 18 walks, and 13 stolen bases.
With the moves, Boston's 40-man roster is now at 38.
