Napoli dislocated his left ring finger in the ninth inning of Tuesday night's game, and he was out of the lineup on Wednesday. He went 1-for-3 and scored the go-ahead run on Thursday.
"He is relatively fine, yeah," said Red Sox manager John Farrell. "Even last night, he was available for a couple of different ways if we chose to use him. We feel like the swelling continues to go down. The discomfort that was there yesterday is less than today. There will probably be some taping just to support it further, but he's in there, ready to go."
As for Uehara, the Red Sox didn't have his services for five straight games as he dealt with discomfort in his right shoulder. He pitched around a single in the ninth on Thursday to record his third save.
Edward Mujica, who blew the save in Wednesday's eventual win, had been filling in as the closer.
