World Series trophy part of Opening Day ceremonies for Dorchester Little League

BOSTON, MA - The Red Sox today announced that the 2013 World Series trophy will make its first visit to Dorchester tomorrow, Saturday, April 26, for the Opening Day ceremonies of the Savin Hill Little League team in Dorchester. The stop represents the completion of visits to all 23 Boston neighborhoods.

The Savin Hill Little League team's Opening Day ceremonies will take place at midday at McConnell Park in Dorchester. Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino are both scheduled to attend the ceremony from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In addition, the trophy will also be on hand to help the Medford High School Girls Softball team's fundraising efforts for the Krystle Campbell Scholarship Fund tomorrow. The scholarship was created by Medford High School in honor of their former student who was one of the three fatalities of the Boston Marathon tragedy.

Donations will be collected for the opportunity to take photos with the trophy, which will be on display from 9 to 10 a.m. at Medford City Hall, and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at John Brewers Tavern in Malden.
