The Boston offense was quiet once again, managing a mere four hits for the second straight night.

Victor Martinez singled home Jacoby Ellsbury to put the Red Sox on the board in the top of the fourth inning, but their lead was short-lived. The Angels delivered the equalizer in the bottom of the inning before plating three more in the seventh.

Beckett matched Jered Weaver pitch-for-pitch until the seventh, when the Red Sox's ace was tagged for three runs that proved to be the difference in the game.

Victor Martinez

Martinez drove in Boston's first run of the series with a fourth-inning RBI single that plated Ellsbury.

Dustin Pedroia made a valiant effort to knock down Maicer Izturis' two-out single in the seventh, lunging toward second base but coming up empty as the ball scooted into center field. Izturis' knock plated the game-winning RBI.
