NEW YORK -- Dustin Pedroia appears to be turning a corner in his recovery from a concussion and could play during this weekend's series at Fenway Park against the Blue Jays.
"He's improved today," said manager John Farrell. "He went through an early [batting practice session] this afternoon. He went through the ImPACT testing on line. That came back as he's passed it. So we'll see how he responds tomorrow with some further exertion testing and it's anticipated and optimistic that he would be back on the field probably when we get back home."
Brock Holt has been getting most of the work at second base during Pedroia's absence, but Holt played third base on Wednesday against the Yankees and Jemile Weeks got the start at second.
